Certificate of Collection of Dog Semen

Due to a request for fresh chilled semen of our Bolle (Athos vom Ellernbruch), we have checked the quality of Bolle’s frozen semen, as well. Despite his ‘old’ age of nearly 8 years, also the frozen quality was acceptable, so we have decided to keep 4 frozen portions, sufficient for one mating. In case of interest, we do request the same breeding rules as for natural matings. For more information, please read the text below.

Important information for international breeders

The German GSMD club, SSV e.V., introduced new rules which apply whenever a German breeder is looking for a stud dog from another club abroad or a breeder from abroad is looking for a German SSV stud dog. If you are interested in breeding with a SSV GSMD (or a German breeder is interested in breeding with your stud dog), please note the following new rules:

The owner of the SSV GSMD has to deliver the following documents of YOUR dog to the breeding commission of the SSV club:

- the pedigree of your dog
- HD x-ray results
- OCD x-ray results
- an eye examination (for reference and further information, please go to the website of the European   College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists to find the needed document for your veterinary (look out for   it under ‘eye panel’ and then ‘ECVO-Certificate’).

The commission will give official approval for the breeding within a 6-weeks’-time period. Therefore, it is advisable to start early with your planning for breeding with a German SSV GSMD!
